President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday formally sworn in Tunji Disu as the 23rd Inspector-General of Police (IGP) and inaugurated commissioners of key federal bodies shortly before presiding over a meeting of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) at the Council Chambers of the State House, Abuja.

At a brief ceremony held ahead of the council meeting, the President administered the oath of office to Disu, formally installing him as the nation’s police chief.

Tinubu also inaugurated six commissioners of the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) and two commissioners of the Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC).

Shortly after the swearing-in ceremony, the President proceeded to preside over the weekly Federal Executive Council meeting, which recorded a strong turnout of ministers and senior government officials.

Those in attendance included Vice President Kashim Shettima, Secretary to the Government of the Federation George Akume, Chief of Staff to the President Femi Gbajabiamila, National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, and Head of the Civil Service of the Federation Esther Walson-Jack.

FEC meetings typically review memoranda on policy, budgets, and projects; recent ones extended into second days with directives like CNG vehicle procurement for agencies.
