The Leadership of the Movement for the Survival of the Ijaw Ethnic Nationality in the Niger Delta (MOSIEND), has commended Pipeline Infrastructure Nigeria Limited (PINL), over its significant protection of critical oil infrastructure in the country.

A statement issued on Wednesday by its National President, Dr. Amb. Kennedy Tonjo West and made available to Salient Times News, (MOSIEND) noted that PINL’s operations has effectively foster a new era of cooperation between operators and host communities across the Trans Niger Pipeline corridor.

The statement described the continued efforts of PINL on the nation’s asset as a transformational performance in the surveillance and protection of the Trans Niger Pipeline (TNP) in the Eastern Corridor on behalf of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL).

The statement said further, “One of the most impactful innovations introduced by PINL has been the institutionalization of monthly stakeholders’ engagement meetings, which has created a reliable platform for dialogue among traditional rulers, community leaders, youth groups, women organizations, security agencies, and industry operators”

MOSIEND observed that these engagements have contributed immensely to building mutual trust, reducing tensions, improving information sharing, and promoting collective responsibility in the protection of the Trans Niger Pipeline — one of Nigeria’s most strategic crude oil evacuation channels.

The Group maintained that the relative stability currently being experienced along the Trans Niger Pipeline corridor demonstrates the effectiveness of community-driven pipeline protection and reflects the positive outcomes of structured engagement and responsible corporate conduct.

MOSIEND further commended PINL for the prompt payment of scholarship grants to students from host communities along the pipeline corridor, describing the initiative as a practical demonstration of corporate responsibility and a strategic investment in the future of the Niger Delta.

The organization noted that the timely disbursement of the scholarships has provided relief to beneficiary families and reinforced community confidence in the sincerity and accountability of PINL’s management.

MOSIEND emphasized that the improved protection of the Trans Niger Pipeline has generated significant benefits for Nigeria through enhanced crude oil delivery performance and improved operational stability for the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), thereby contributing to national economic growth and energy security.

The Movement also praised traditional rulers, Community Development Committees (CDCs), youth bodies, women groups, and other stakeholders in host communities for their patriotic role in maintaining peace and supporting the protection of national assets.

According to MOSIEND, the prevailing peace along the Trans Niger Pipeline corridor represents a clear demonstration that sustainable pipeline security can only be achieved through partnership, inclusion, and mutual respect between operators and host communities.

MOSIEND urged the management of PINL to sustain the momentum already established through continuous stakeholder engagement and the expansion of community-focused programmes capable of further strengthening stability in the region.

The Movement reaffirmed its commitment to supporting initiatives that promote peace, protect critical national infrastructure, and advance the welfare of the Ijaw people and the wider Niger Delta region.

MOSIEND noted that the achievements recorded along the Trans Niger Pipeline corridor provide a workable model for pipeline protection across the Niger Delta and the country at large
