The Honourable Minister of Petroleum Resources (Oil), Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of two staff members of Bayelsa State origin at the Niger Delta Basin Development Authority (NDBDA), who lost their lives in a ghastly motor accident on January 30, 2026.

In a condolence message to the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Authority, Prince Ebitimi Amgbare, the Minister described the incident as a painful loss to the bereaved families, the NDBDA, as well as the Government and people of Bayelsa State.

He extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased and to the Government and people of Bayelsa State, praying that God grants them strength and comfort, and assuring them that the service and contributions of the departed officers will not be forgotten.

The Minister also commiserated with the management and staff of the Niger Delta Basin Development Authority, praying for the peaceful repose of the souls of the deceased and for grace for all who mourn.
