The governor of Ebonyi state, Francis Nwifuru on Thursday expressed disappointment over the ways and manners his counterpart in Anambra Prof. Chukwuma Soludo is handling the massacre of his people in Ogboji community in Orumba south area.

The governor who was furious, stressed that since four months the incident happened no arrest has been made by Prof. Soludo in Anambra.

Salient Times recalled that 11 Ebonyians in a meeting were massacred on 30th May 2025 while one who survived the incident and still receiving treatment is still in critical condition.

Nwifuru made this known on Thursday during a state burial for the 11 deceased which was held at Unity Square, Abakaliki the state capital.

He further asked the people of the state to remain calm, stressing at the appropriate time, justice would prevail.

According to him, “When I got a call from governor of Anambra state at about 8 pm that day, he told me that the worse has happened and I asked him who is that?

“He told me that 12 Ebonyians have been killed by unknown gunmen.it was at this point that I told him that I don’t like the way and manners my people are being killed in Anambra

“And I made him to realize that Anambrians owe most of the properties in Ebonyi and controls the economy of the state….

“But through preliminary investigations the unknown gunmen were speaking true Igbo dialect not Ebonyi when the stormed the meeting venue.

“And as I speak to you, non person has been arrested in connection to the crime. The only arrest made was that of Ebonyi man. And I said no, because there was no true evidence.

“While this is not time to talk because I’m the Chief mourner. But I what to urge our stakeholders and parents of the deceased to be calm and take hearts,” he urged.

Also, the state governor gave families of the victims a total of 65 million naira. From the sum, wives of the deceased got 5 Million naira each.
