Mass Burial: Ebonyi Govt Mourns 11 Indigenes Killed In Anambra

The Ebonyi State Government has mourned the eleven Ebonyians brutally murdered by unknown gunmen in Ogboji, Anambra State.

The Mass Burial ceremony held on Thursday at Unity Square Abakaliki Meanwhile Governor Nwifuru has lamented over the killings of Ebonyi people in Ogboji Anambra State, describing their killings as barbaric and cruel assault on Ebonyi people, while he sympathized with the victims families , noting that none of the perpetrators has been arrested till today

The Governor therefore announced a donation of #60 million to support the bereaved families and #5 million to each victims families

“The support was intended to strengthen widows and orphans left behind and to discourage Ebonyians from seeking survival in hostile environments.

“We must put an end to the humiliation and bloodshed of our people in places where they should be safe as Igbos. I appeal to the families to use this support wisely here at home and never again look for livelihood in unsafe territories,”

“We cannot continue treating ourselves as outsiders. Unity, respect, and love among us are the only way to safeguard our people,” Nwifuru said.
