The highly anticipated family meeting between the Adeosun and Akinnubi families concluded on Thursday, July 10, 2025, in Abeokuta, with both parties agreeing to conduct a DNA test to confirm the paternity of two children claimed by Ms Adeosun Oluwapelumi Rafiat belongs to Akinnubi Oluwatoyin Korede Francis.

During the emotionally charged gathering, Ms Adeosun Oluwapelumi Rafiat admitted that her past relationship with Akinnubi Oluwatoyin Korede Francis had been kept secret due to their age difference. She revealed that Akinnubi Oluwatoyin Korede Francis was significantly younger than her and had insisted on keeping their relationship hidden. According to her, she never previously informed him that he was the father of her children and had even told him that another man was responsible in order to avoid conflict.

Ms Adeosun Oluwapelumi Rafiat explained that her decision to become pregnant was intentional, although she did not inform Akinnubi Oluwatoyin Korede Francis of her plans. She maintained that he was the only man she had relations with during the period she conceived her two children: Adeosun Isreal Oluwafirekunmi and Adeosun Emmanuel Ibukunoluwa.

In his response, Akinnubi Oluwatoyin Korede Francis acknowledged that he had a sexual relationship with Ms Adeosun Oluwapelumi Rafiat but strongly denied any prior agreement or awareness regarding having children together. He expressed disbelief at the claim of paternity, emphasizing that he was never consulted or informed about any such plans.

Despite the tension, representatives from both families commended each other for handling the situation peacefully. Family elders pleaded with Akinnubi Oluwatoyin Korede Francis to remain calm and assured him that the matter would be resolved fairly. They also urged understanding and compassion, acknowledging the emotional weight of the situation for all parties involved.

In a final resolution, both families agreed that a DNA test would be the most appropriate and conclusive step. Akinnubi Oluwatoyin Korede Francis consented to the test and stated that he would accept the children as his own if the results confirm his biological connection.

The DNA test is expected to be conducted in the coming weeks, and both families expressed hope that the outcome will bring closure and clarity.
