Governor Abiodun said this while commissioning the new Amotekun security outpost built and donated by the Ologere of Ogere, Oba James Obafemi in Ogere axis of Ikenne local government area of the State, saying this gesture would strengthen the corps presence in the community, especially along the Ogere-Interchange corridor of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway and would aid prompt response to security challenges.

Represented by the Permanent Secretary, Bureau of Cabinet and Special Services, Mr. Iskeel Olanrewaju Saka, Governor Abiodun who said security is the responsibility of everyone, noted the collaborative efforts of security agencies in the State and pledged the State government’s continuous support to enhance their operations.

Further in his speech, the governor appreciated the monarch for his philanthropic gesture towards the Amotekun Corps, stating that the edifice will enhance their performance and ensure speedy response to crime-related issues, as it would further serve as a limitation for negatively inspired and criminally inclined motives, particularly in these times when the country is facing its toughest security challenge.

“Fighting insecurity cannot be left to the State government only, it requires collaboration and support from all and sundry, especially private sector, to ensure that insecurity is brought to the barest minimum in our communities. It is on that premise that the Governor has prioritized security and such effort has brought the State to the limelight, making it the most relatively peaceful State in the country”

“I want to use this symbolic occasion to encourage all indigenes of Ogere and many philanthropists in our dear State to emulate Kabiyesi, the Ologere of Ogere, and join hands with government to enhance the performance of our security agencies so that we can all sleep with our two eyes closed. With Amotekun, in strong synergy with other security agencies in the State, the safety and security of lives and property shall be more improved upon in Ogere, and by extension, the State”, Abiodun assured.

Earlier, the donor, Ologere of Ogere, Oba James Obafemi called for all hands to be on deck to fight insecurity, saying insecurity has continued to escalate with the advent of miscreants, who boldly embark on criminal activities without regard to life and property. He said it is crucial that quick, decisive, proactive and intentional measures to protect our communities should be taken; the reason for his gesture.

“It is our pride and pleasure that we are able to construct this edifice to support Amotekun in their daily routine of providing security in a community we consider as our cradle. We are convinced that the construction of this edifice is in the right direction, and I commend all indigenes and residents of Ogere for their contribution toward the realisation of the project”, Ologere stated.

In his reaction, the Corps Commander of the Ogun State Security Network Agency (Amotekun), Brigadier General Alade Adedigba appreciated the monarch for his kind gesture towards the Corps and also emphasized the need for all stakeholders to buy into security.

General Adedigba said security cannot be left to the police or to any other security agencies, but requires strategic approach and collaborative efforts of all security agencies, individuals and other stakeholders as demonstrated by Kabiyesi, the Ologere od Ogere. This beautiful edifice built and donated for for the Amotekun Corps, would facilitate easy administration and performance of our responsibilities.

He assured the monarch and the people of the community of unwavering security services, stressing that, reciprocating the rare gesture, the community and other suburbs will receive the best of security attention from Amotekun Corps.
