It was a day of celebration, empowerment, and milestones as Ayisat Yusuf, a trailblazer in women’s football, officially launched the Football Academy Hostel and Gym Centre in Badagry. The event, held alongside the 2025 SheFootball Conference, was a culmination of years of dedication to nurturing talent, breaking barriers, and empowering women through sports.

The launch, which brought together athletes, sports enthusiasts, community leaders, and supporters, marked a significant leap forward for women in sports. Speaking at the event, Ayisat Yusuf expressed heartfelt gratitude to those who supported her vision.

“On behalf of the SheFootball Confberence team and the Ayisat Yusuf Foundation, I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to you for gracing this momentous occasion with your presence,” she said. “Your support, energy, and contributions played a significant role in making the SheFootball Conference 2025 a resounding success.”
The Football Academy Hostel and Gym Centre is not just a facility; it is a symbol of hope and opportunity for young girls aspiring to excel in football and lead impactful lives. Equipped with state-of-the-art gym facilities, comfortable accommodation, and a nurturing environment, the center is designed to help athletes develop holistically.
“This is more than a hostel or a gym,” Ayisat continued. “It’s a safe haven, a training ground, and a space where dreams are nurtured into reality. Our mission is to ensure that no young girl is left behind in her pursuit of greatness, whether on the field or off it.
A highlight of the day was the unveiling of the facility, by Lagos FA Chairman, followed by a tour showcasing its impressive amenities.
In her address, Ayisat highlighted the importance of community in achieving milestones like this. “Your involvement means so much to us and highlights the importance of building a strong network of individuals dedicated to growth and progress,” she said.
Guests at the event praised Ayisat’s dedication and the tangible impact her efforts have made in the community. “Ayisat Yusuf is not just a sports icon; she is a beacon of hope and a role model for the next generation,” said the Lagos State FA Chairman, Hajji Gafar.
Ayisat concluded her remarks with an open invitation to stakeholders, organizations, and individuals passionate about empowering women in sports. “Thank you once again for believing in our vision and standing with us. I look forward to staying connected and collaborating to create more impactful opportunities for women in sports,” she
