It was fun galore as the Old Grammarian Society of CMS Grammar School, Lagos, 1988 set celebrated its end of the year party on Sunday 22nd December, 2024 at the Nigerian Institute of Journalism, Ogba, Lagos.
In his good-will message at the occasion, the President- General (world wide) of the Society, Mr. Cyril Ogbekene rejoiced with the set members for ending the year with thanksgiving.
He said, “as the President General of the Society world wide, I’m striving to build a strong and reliable central body, which can only be possible through a strong sets of the Society all over the world”.
Ogbekene maintained that with what he saw at the programme, he believed that the ’88 set is one of the sets that is helping to achieve its set-goal and
commended the set for the remembrance of their late colleagues’ families just as he also encouraged them to bring in more of their colleagues into their fold.
In his address, the Chairman of OGS “88 set, Mr Biodun Ogunlabi said the set had always been a united big family, indicating the drive of the set initiating investments that would improve the life of members and urged members to key into the opportunity.
He thanked the Executive Members of the set for their support, which he said had made the set a leading example amongst others and specially commended the Welfare and the End of the Year Party committees for their good work.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Chairman organizing Committee of the End of the Year Party, Mr Omololu Elias, represented by Mr. Yinusa Akinbowale said the event was to appreciate God Almighty for His kindness upon the set members.
He enjoined members to always be their brothers’ keepers in order to make live better for all.
Highlights of the programme were presentation of cash gifts and food items to five families of late members of the set and conduct of prostrate test on interested members at the occasion by medical personnel on ground.
