Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has assured that his administration will continue to support local governments in the State to perform maximally in the discharge of its constitutional roles.

Abiodun said this while speaking at the Ogun state Local Government Service 2024 Award of Excellence/Gala night held at the DLK events center, Abiola way Abeokuta.

Represented by his deputy, Engr Noimot Salako -Oyedele, Prince Dapo Abiodun while appreciating the uniqueness of local government in the development of rural areas vowed that his Administration will do all things possible to reposition the local Government service for effectiveness, sustainability and reliability.

Earlier in her speech, The Chairman, Ogun state Local Government service Commission, Ms (Barr.) Olivia Olubukunola Onabanjo Appreciated Governor Dapo Abiodun for his support to local government administration in the State.

She described the Leadership of the Governor as a beacon of guidance that is allowing her administration in the State Local Government Service Commission to uphold integrity and excellence at the local government level.

Speaking on her achievements in the commission which includes, Clearing of Backlog of Promotion, Conversion Exercise for qualified staffers, adequate training through workshops and seminars, Employment for newly recruited officers in different cadres among several others.

In her words “the local government service week is more than an event, it is a reflection of our mission to bring governance closer to the people” .

She opined that the Local Government is where the needs of people are met, where the real change is felt.

While congratulating members of staff for the successful year 2024 service week, the Chairman implored Leaders, Community members and other stakeholders to work together with members of staff to achieve an improved service delivery and ensure that the impact is felt across the board in the state.

Meanwhile, the Head of Department Information, Education and Sports in Odogbolu Local Government, Mrs Titilayo Ayanwale has emerged as the Best Image Maker of the year.

The Award was bestowed on Mrs. Titilayo Ayanwale,who is the Head of the Department of Information, Education and Sports in Odogbolu Local Government at the Award of Excellence/Gala night which was the grand finale of the award at the DLK events center, Abiola way Abeokuta.

Presenting the award to Mrs Ayanwale, the Ogun State Deputy Governor, Engr Noimot Salako-Oyedele appreciated the local Government service commission leadership and their members for conducting a successful Award of Excellence/ Galla night which was the grand finale of the Local Government service week.

The Occasion was witnessed by cream- de la -cream of the society which includes Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun,wife of the Governor of Ogun state; Rt. Hon. Daisi Elemide, Speaker of Ogun state House of assembly; Hon. Joseph Adegbesan, Member Ogun state House of assembly; Mr. Kehinde Olufemi Onasanya, Ogun state Head of Service; Hon. Sesan Fagbayi, Commissioner for Culture and Tourism; Full time Commissioners in the Local Government Service Commission, Retired and Serving Permanent Secretaries; Royal Father’s , Top Government functionaries, among many others.
