The Association of former Local Government Appointees in Ogun State has felicitated with Ogun State Speaker, Rt. Hon Daisi Elemide as he celebrates 60th birthday anniversary today.
The association goodwill message was signed by the National Chairman of the Body, Dr Abayomi Arabambi and made available to newsmen on Saturday in Abeokuta the State’s capital.
The Association said that given the so many records of spectacular and uncommon achievements by Elemide within these 60 years, placed him at a comfortable and special place in the annals of history.
“Though born without a silver spoon, Elemide has by dint of hard work and determination risen from the lower rung of life to a towering level to the admiration of all well-meaning and discerning minds.
“He started demonstrating his leadership traits as a young man when he served at different levels of the Society both at Local and State level.
“Joining active politics as a founding member of the Alliance for Democracy, Elemide contested and won election to represent the good and peace-loving people of Odeda State Constituency in the Ogun State House of Assembly.
“He was easily identified and unanimously elected by his fellow members as Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly in 2024 a position he is serving with great honour and distinction.
“His legislative process is putting Ogun State in a front burner of comity of states with arrays of unprecedented achievements oenjoying great dividends of democracy especially.
The Association said that the cordial working relationship between the Executive and legislative arms and several bodies were established with speedy and seamless passage of bills when he was elected as the Speaker.
Arabambi further said that as very humble, but deft and calculated politician, Elemide won the heart of the people and its colleagues.
“This to a great extent spurred him to put in his best, especially in the area of peace building and its maintenance where he picked up the broken pieces and restored calm and relative peace in the Ogun State House of Assembly..
“As an acknowledged and accomplished politician, Elemide is able to properly launch Ogun Assembly into the national arena with collaborative efforts of His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, with several benefits accruing to the state.
The Association prayed to God to continue to bless Elemide with abundant wisdom, health and protection, as well as elevate him for greater responsibilities in the years ahead.
