The Ogun State government has waded into the crisis rocking the composition of regency council in Gbagura, Abeokuta North Local Government Area of Ogun State.
Gbagura town, one of the sections that made Egbaland just lost its royal father a situation that made some Chiefs to inaugurate the Regency Council with Chief Bode Mustapha emerging as Chairman of the Regency Council.
Also nominated as the Secretary was Chief Nuru Olaleye as the Secretary.

I have the directive of the Honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs to acknowledge receipt our letter dated 14th March, 2024, on the above subject and to inform you that the Obas and Chiefs Law of Ogun State, 2021 does not recognize Regency Council and allied matters.
Consequently, I am to add that Gbagura Regency Council and its attendant matters should, henceforth, cease to exist
