The wife of the Governor of Ebonyi State, Mrs Mary-Maudline Uzoamaka Ogbonna Nwifuru has said that her office is ready to tackle the issue of malnutrition which has tormented many people and sent others to their early graves.

She, therefore called stakeholders to join hands to eradicate the menace of Malnutrition ravaging the society.

Ebonyi First Lady made the call, during the 2023 Ebonyi hidden hunger Conference organized by the Ebonyi State Government in collaboration with USAID, WHO and other development partners.

Mrs Nwifuru, however charged community leaders to identify all malnourished patients in their localities and send them to various centres in the state for treatment.

She also announce the establishment malnutrition referral centre at the National Obstetric Fistula Centre, Abakaliki and called on all and sundry to take advantage of the centre to address nutrition imbalance issues.

In their separate remarks the state commissioner for Budget, Planning, Research and Monitoring Mrs Chinwe Okah, and her Health counterpart Dr Moses Ekuma represented by Dr Philip Ovuoba lamented the high rate of malnutrition in the society and assured that the state Government has put everything needed to fight against the menace
