Ebonyi State Governor Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru has approved the sum of N1billion naira for disbursement to 500 Ebonyi indigenes as means of empowerment.

This was contained in a statement signed and issued by Elechi Elechi
Hon. Commissioner for Trade and Investment (Chairman Empowerment Committee, Ebonyi State).

Elechi noted that the empowerment was also in line with campaign promises made by Governor Nwifuru,

He disclosed that the first phase of the empowerment programme shall consist of 500 Ebonyi citizens in various parts of the country as highlighted below:

1. Lagos – 100 persons
2. Onitsha – 100 persons
3. Port Harcourt – 100 persons
4. Abuja – 60 persons
5. Aba. – 30 persons
6. Abakaliki – 180 persons

Which is the total of – 500 persons

“Consequently, the Ministries of Skills Development & Job Creation and that of Commerce and Industry are currently profiling the intending beneficiaries”

“The training and subsequent disbursement of the empowerment funds shall commence in due course”.
