Ogun Chieftaincy Crisis: Family sacks Sunday Oluwole as Odofin Ijeja
The Odofin Compound of Ijeja in Abeokuta South Local Government area of Ogun State has sacked Mr Sunday Oluwole as the Odofin of Ijeja, Egba.
The sack was sequel to his earlier suspension by the Odofin Compound, based on some alleged infractions he allegedly committed while holding the office of Odofin of Ijeja.
It could be recalled that Sunday Oluwole was recently suspended a result of an announcement he made about a controversial Oluwo title in Ijeja, Abeokuta.
Oluwole was said to have dabbled into the Oluwo issue, which is still before the court, making comments that could cause a breach of public peace on a radio programme.
But rather than retracing his steps, he was alleged to have gone ahead and installed the controversial Oluwo in spite of court order stopping the process.
In a letter written by the counsel to the Compound, Barrister Kehinde Amusa of Hassan Amusa chamber, warned Mr Sunday Oluwole to stop parading himself as Odofin of Ijeja Abeokuta.
In the letter addressed to the disposed Odofin, entitled ‘Re- Letter of Suspension by Odofin Compound against Chief Sunday Oluwole, the suspended Odofin of Ijeja, Egbaland), final dismissal from office as Odofin Ijeja’, informed Oluwole of his dismissal.
