Speaking with Journalists at the event which took place at Olumo Rock center, Ikija Abeokuta, Kasnaty noted that elderly persons deserve all the care they can get and urged other organizations and well-meaning Nigerians to rise up to the challenge of caring for them.

According to him, he embraced philanthropy during the COVID-19 lockdown after his experience with an aged woman who narrated her ordeal to him in order to feed her family

He said his organization, Sugarlink Concept in a bid to see more Nigerians beat the scourge of poverty, approached well spirited individual who has been of tremendous help to the needy in the society, noting that the fact that a significant percentage of Nigerians live in abject poverty makes it mandatory for the privilege to arise and assist others not so fortunate.

“We helped more people during the COVID-19 lockdown. We shared foodstuff, such as semolina, spaghetti and noodles, to the aged.. We are planning to improve more in our area of giving and supporting the less privileged and in reaching out to many vulnerable,” he said.

Sugarlink Concept has been in the vanguard of the crusade against hunger, poverty, deprivation and sickness amongst the aged from age 60 and above, a part of the focus of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations (UN)

OAP Kasnaty further enjoined well-placed Nigerians to embrace the art of giving, adding that “help comes from anywhere; whatsoever help you render today will come back to you tomorrow. Who knows, the person you help today can be of help to you tomorrow.”

Speaking of the attitude of Nigerians towards giving, he said: “When many people see the cases we posted on our Facebook page, they are always touched, and many of them are willing to help and support through donations.”

He said many of these aged people we see here today have served their fatherland one way or the other, they served in various capacity and now when they are old, nobody cares for them again, this has let some to die prematurely.

What you see us do today is on what people have contributed, God directed us to do it, and we will continue to do what is in our care to do.

While taking stock of the progress report of his gesture in the past, he reviewed the long-term objectives of his programme this way: “We remain committed to offering support to the less privileged, the aged, and the extremely poor, and we will continue to provide opportunities for them.
