Nigeria’s Military Service Chiefs have arrived Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, to assess recent security escalation in the region.
Olufemi Oluyede, the chief of defence staff; Waheed Shuaibu, the chief army staff; and other military top brass arrived at the Air Component Command of Operation Hadin Kai at exactly 10:30 am in Maiduguri.
They were received by Abdulsalam Abubakar, the theatre commander Operation Hadin Kai.
According to security source, the chiefs are in closed door meeting with field commanders to review, reassess and re-strategise.
