The Senator representing Benue North-West Senatorial District, Sen. Titus Tartenger Zam, at the weekend, met with Jemgbagh stakeholders from Gboko, Buruku and Tarka Local Government Areas at his residence in Makurdi, where he presented a scorecard of his legislative and constituency activities.
At the meeting, the Chairman of the Senate Committee on the North Central Development Commission highlighted several projects and interventions executed across the senatorial district.
According to the senator, his office has facilitated scholarships for indigent students and undertaken key infrastructure projects, including the construction of the Afatyo–Ajoko road in Buruku Local Government Area, as well as classroom blocks at Mbajir in Tarka and Tombo Community Secondary School in Buruku.
He also listed the provision of a solar-powered borehole and public convenience facility at the mechanic site in Gboko, the construction of a classroom block at LGEA Nenge in Gboko, and the installation of solar-powered boreholes in Aumazwa, Mbatierev, Ukpekpe and Mbayion communities, all within Gboko Local Government Area.
Other projects highlighted include the installation of solar streetlights at the Federal Polytechnic Wannune, the University of Mkar in Gboko, and in Karmen, Tomatar in Gboko as well as Binev in Buruku.
Sen. Zam also pointed to empowerment programmes targeted at women, which involved the distribution of grinding machines, sewing machines and hair dryers, among other interventions aimed at improving livelihoods in the district.
The lawmaker assured constituents of his continued commitment to advancing development and improving the welfare of the people of the senatorial district.
He also appealed for unity, peace and cooperation among political stakeholders while soliciting their continued support.
Sen. Zam described the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Sen. George Akume, as a father figure and political leader whose contributions and leadership deserve loyalty and respect from his associates.
In separate remarks, Hon. John Dyegh, a former member of the House of Representatives who represented Gboko/Tarka Federal Constituency; Anthony Ijohor, SAN; Sebastine Tartenger Hon, SAN; Bende Iyolna; and Samuel Atsuku commended the senator for his legislative performance and pledged their support for his future political aspirations.
They also described Sen. Akume as a major political rallying point in Zone B and across Benue State.
Earlier in his welcome address, the APC leader in Zone B, Chief Akange Audu, thanked the Jemgbagh people for their consistent support for Sen. Zam and urged them to sustain the backing.
Among prominent stakeholders who attended the meeting were Dr. Tyover Ashinya Dajoh, Rt. Hon. Aondona Dajoh, Hon. Chief Mrs. Beckie Orpin, Hon. Dr. Abraham Jabi, Hon. McClinton Manger Manger, Barr. Cosmas Akighir, Hon. Tarhule Nev, Prince Yandev Amaabai, Chief A.A. Iortyom, Hon. Tyoapine Tsegba, Hon. Chris Aondo Dura, Hon. Shiando Tarka, Hon. Basil Yina, Hon. Mkaa Pepe, and others.
The meeting was also attended by the senator’s kinsmen, including Dr. Stephen Tsav, Dr. Utor Gbinde, Elder Julius Ukpanya, Elder Everitus Oluwa Gema, Hon. Christopher Tyoakaa, Hon. Francis Ayaga, Hon. Edwin Igbahena and Elder Godwin Adudu, among other notable personalities.
