The Ogun State Security Network Agency, popularly known as the Amotekun Corps, has announced the commencement of its 2026 recruitment exercise to enlist 1,000 additional personnel into its fold.
The move, which received the official nod of Governor Dapo Abiodun, is part of a strategic effort to strengthen community-based security and grassroots intelligence across the state’s 20 Local Government Areas.
In a statement released on Monday by the Corps Commander, Brig. Gen. Alade Adedigba (retd.), the agency noted that the new intake follows the successful recruitment of nearly 1,300 operatives last year.
According to Adedigba, the initiative is designed to bolster the Corps’ presence in rural communities, border corridors, and identified “flashpoints” that require increased surveillance and rapid response.
The statement read in part, “This recruitment initiative underscores the deliberate strategic security vision of the State Government, aimed at consolidating gains recorded in crime prevention and intelligence-driven policing. We are focused on building a disciplined, professional, and community-oriented security outfit.”
Application Details
The Corps clarified that the application process is strictly digital and free of charge. Interested candidates are required to apply via the official portal: ogunstateamotekun.com.ng.
The application window, which opened on Thursday, February 26, is set to close on Friday, March 13, 2026. Following the submission phase, a physical screening exercise has been scheduled to hold between March 23 and April 8, 2026.
Warning Against Fraud
The Agency further warned the public to be wary of job racketeers, emphasizing that the process is merit-based.
”Members of the public are cautioned against falling victim to fraudsters or unauthorized individuals demanding payment in connection with the exercise,” Adedigba added.
