The terrorists, said to be riding on motorcycles, came in their numbers and started shooting sporadically as they stormed the village, leaving the helpless villagers to scramble for their lives.

At the end of the invasion, six persons were said to have been gunned down.

A dependable source, who spoke on condition of anonymity from the community, told our correspondent that the armed men after carrying out their dastardly act in Feyi area moved to Tungan Makeri and Nkpaso villages respectively, both in Konkoso Ward of Borgu local government area in the early hours of Saturday, during which they gunned down 20 persons and later set the police station in Pissa ablaze.

The impeccable source further revealed that a military helicopter was later cited moving towards the communities ravaged by the bandits but no casualty was recorded on the part of the terrorists.

Some communities in Borgu had been constantly raided by these terrorists in the past few months, with many lives and properties lost.

When contacted, the state police command thorough its public relations unit confirmed the incident, saying: “On 14/2/2026 at about 6am, report received indicated that at about 3am, suspected bandits invaded Tunga-Makeri village via Shafachi district Borgu LGA and during the attack, six persons lost their lives, some houses were also set ablaze, and a yet to be ascertained number of persons were abducted, as the terrorists were also reported to have moved to Konkoso village and other details still sketchy.

Meanwhile, joint security teams have been mobilised to the scene for assessment and effort to rescue the victims is ongoing.”
