The renewal was announced during a courtesy visit by Dr. Frank Igbojindu, Founder of Akpoazaa Foundation and Group Managing Director of Akpoazaa Group to the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Bond Stanley Anyaehie, at the institution’s Awka campus.

Igbojindu explained that the endowment, which was launched in 2025, was created to reward and encourage outstanding academic performance among graduating students and has now been institutionalised as a yearly intervention to promote merit, discipline, and excellence.

According to him, “the total sum of ₦500,000 is awarded across three categories: ₦250,000 for the Overall Best Graduating Student of the University, ₦150,000 for the Best Graduating Student in the Faculty of Management Sciences, and ₦100,000 for the Best Graduating Student in the Department of Accountancy.

“And this was created to reward and encourage outstanding academic performance among graduating students and has now been institutionalised as a yearly intervention to promote merit, discipline, and excellence.

“Again, we are donating a 500-capacity event tent to support logistics and activities for the University’s forthcoming convocation ceremony.

“This is also part of our commitment in providing facilities that would enhance teaching and learning and human capital development in Anambra higher institutions of learning,”he stated.

Responding, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Anyaehie, expressed appreciation for the gesture, describing it as a commendable example of alumni support and private-sector partnership in advancing the University’s academic ideals.

“So we urge you to continue, you are a product of this noble university and you have come today to reaffirm what you started last year”,he noted.

The Akpoazaa Foundation endowment continues to stand as one of the notable alumni-driven initiatives aimed at motivating students and reinforcing a culture of excellence within the University.
