The family of the late Alaperu of Iperu, His Royal Highness, Oba Adeleke Adelekan Idowu-Basibo (Odoru V), has expressed deep appreciation to individuals, institutions, and well-wishers who supported them during the one-year remembrance of the revered traditional ruler.

In a statement signed by Temitope Oyekan, Media Officer, Iperu Indigenes Forum, and dated February 9, 2026, issued on behalf of the family, Princess Adeyosola Idowu-Basibo, daughter of the late monarch, described the show of love, prayers, and support received from across the country as overwhelming and deeply comforting.

She noted that the level of solidarity demonstrated during the remembrance activities exceeded the family’s expectations, adding that the goodwill shown would remain a lasting source of strength and encouragement to them.

According to her, the family remains grateful for the commitment and unity displayed by various stakeholders who contributed in different ways to ensure the success of the remembrance ceremony.

Princess Idowu-Basibo offered prayers for all those who stood by the family, asking God to meet their needs, bless their homes, and raise helpers for them in times of need.

She also prayed for divine protection, good health, and lasting prosperity for supporters, expressing hope that their latter days would be greater than their former.

The family specifically acknowledged the presence and contributions of the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun; the Bishop of Remo Anglican Diocese and Archbishop of Lagos Ecclesiastical Province, His Grace, Michael Olusina Fape, alongside officiating ministers.

Also appreciated were the Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland, Oba Dr. Babatunde Adewale Ajayi (Torungbuwa II); members of the Alaperu-in-Council; the Iperu Council of Obas; Baales and Chiefs in Iperu; and royal fathers from Remoland and beyond.

The family further recognised the roles played by the League of Imams and Alfas, traditional worshippers, ruling houses—particularly the Odoru Royal Family—as well as families, friends, clubs, and social associations.

They also extended appreciation to the people of Iperu Akesanland, members of the media, and law enforcement agencies for their support and cooperation throughout the remembrance period.

Reaffirming their gratitude, the family stated that the unity, compassion, and collective support demonstrated by the various groups and individuals have helped preserve and honour the enduring legacy of the late monarch.

They added that the success of the remembrance ceremony reflected the respect and love the late Oba commanded during his lifetime and continues to command even after his passing.
