…Reaffirms Commitment to Professionalism and Positive Public Relations

The Ogun State Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has congratulated the government and people of Ogun State as the state marks 50 years of creation and development.

In a goodwill message issued to commemorate the Golden Jubilee anniversary, the professional body described the milestone as monumental, noting that Ogun State’s journey over the past five decades reflects resilience, progress, and an unyielding commitment to excellence.

The chapter particularly rejoiced with the Governor of Ogun State, Prince (Dr.) Dapo Abiodun, CON, for steering the state into its 50th anniversary while positioning it for another phase of sustained growth.

The NIPR said the celebration is a testament to Ogun State’s unwavering spirit and determination to rise above challenges while harnessing its human and natural resources for innovation, entrepreneurship, and economic prosperity.

“Ogun State has consistently demonstrated an uncanny ability to rise above challenges, leveraging its rich resources to drive development and prosperity,” the statement read.

The institute also highlighted Ogun State’s reputation as a treasure trove of cultural heritage and historical landmarks, as well as its status as Nigeria’s education capital with the highest concentration of tertiary institutions.

Since its creation on February 3, 1976, the chapter noted, Ogun has transformed into a vibrant hub of creativity and opportunity, earning recognition as a powerhouse of public relations through talent development, professionalism, and strategic communication initiatives.

The body saluted past and present leaders whose cumulative efforts have contributed to the state’s enviable evolution into a model of development in Nigeria.

The Ogun NIPR further applauded the resilience, industry, and solidarity of the people, describing them as the backbone of the state’s progressive achievements.

According to the statement, Ogun State under Governor Abiodun has emerged as one of Nigeria’s most business-friendly states, attracting investments in manufacturing, logistics, real estate, and technology.

The chapter cited the state’s growing industrialisation, with over 6,000 manufacturing firms, major assembly plants, and industrial clusters across different regions.

It also commended the administration’s infrastructure drive, noting that over 1,000 roads have been constructed and rehabilitated since 2019, many being commissioned as part of the Golden Jubilee celebrations.

The institute described Ogun’s improved internally generated revenue performance as a major boost, reducing dependence on federal allocations and strengthening its development trajectory.

Looking ahead, Ogun NIPR expressed optimism that the discovery of oil in two locations, alongside other ambitious government projects, positions the state for even greater prosperity.

“As we stand on the threshold of our Golden Jubilee, let us look back not as separate towns and tribes, but as one indivisible family bound by shared heritage,” the statement added.

The chapter, on behalf of its executive and members, extended hearty congratulations to all indigenes, residents, and friends of Ogun State.

“Proudly Ogun! Boldly Public Relations!” the institute concluded.
