Umo Eno, governor of Akwa Ibom, on Tuesday expressed displeasure with a contractor for commencing the construction of Ekpene Udo General Hospital with a mortuary facility.
In a video showing the governor inspecting the project site with some state officials, Eno is seen questioning the contractor, an expatriate, who was conducting him around, on why construction began with the mortuary.
“Why did you start mortuary first, why mortuary, I say build hospital you started with mortuary, don’t say that kind of a thing again, don’t show me mortuary,” he told the contractor.
The governor also visited other key infrastructure developments across the state.
He was seen touring the Ikot Ekpene Udo Bridge and the Oron Marine Jetty as part of ongoing efforts to monitor government-funded projects.
During the tour, Eno said the developments are meant to serve the public, noting that all the projects belong to the people of Akwa Ibom state.
