Hisbah said such activities are deemed contrary to the Sharia law, particularly during festive occasions.

According to the statement, the directive has the approval of the Chairman of the Yobe State Hisbah Commission, Dr. Yahuza Hamza Abubakar.

The Commission highlighted several behaviours which the residents must avoid.

These include “reckless driving or moving in vehicles, especially in public during weddings or Sallah celebrations,” and “physical interaction between men and women in vehicles, particularly on Keke Napep, motorcycles, or at public gatherings”.

The Hisbah Commission called on parents and the wider community to support the enforcement of these rules, emphasizing that it is intended “to preserve the moral upbringing of our children”.
