The Pastor Reuben Initiative For Good Leadership And Accountability (PRIFGLA) And a governing member of university of uyo, Akwa Ibom State has announced the third edition of its highly anticipated Scholarship and Debate Competition, offering secondary school students a major opportunity to access financial support and academic recognition.

According to the organisers, the competition, which is open exclusively to SS2 and SS3 students, will hold at Tamara Hall, Otictio Road, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State. Accreditation is scheduled for 10:00am, while the main event will commence at 12 noon.

This year’s edition comes with significant cash prizes for outstanding participants. The overall winner will receive ₦1 million, while the first runner-up will go home with ₦800,000. The second and third runners-up will receive ₦600,000 and ₦400,000 respectively.

 

In addition to the cash awards, PRIFGLA announced a long-term educational support package for winners who secure admission into a university. Such beneficiaries will receive an annual scholarship of ₦100,000 per academic session throughout their four to five years of study.

Chief Hon. Reuben C. Wilson, founder of the Initiative and Chief Host of the event, described the initiative as part of PRIFGLA’s ongoing commitment to youth development, academic excellence, and capacity building in Bayelsa State and beyond.

Collection of registration forms begins on Tuesday, December 16, and ends on Monday, December 22. Organisers emphasized that participation is completely free, urging eligible students to take advantage of the opportunity.

“The competition is designed to identify, reward, and empower brilliant young minds while encouraging healthy intellectual engagement among students,” the foundation stated.

Interested participants and schools can obtain forms and make enquiries via 08032156507. The competition is being coordinated by Chief Eyi M. Excel.

PRIFGLA has called on parents, teachers, and school administrators to support and encourage students to participate, describing the programme as a “golden opportunity to showcase talent and secure a brighter future.”
