Otunba Ayo Osisanya, who is currently in seclusion undergoing the traditional rites for installation as the Jaginrin of Ijebu-Ode, has stated that his nomination was duly affirmed under the leadership of Oba Rasheed Adeoye Adesanya, the Olisa of Ijebu-Ode.

Speaking on Wednesday at the Jaginrin House in Idele, Oyingbo, Ijebu-Ode, where he is observing the seclusion process, Osisanya said he followed the proper procedures, including obtaining an affirmation letter signed by Oba Adesanya and addressed to the Olori Ebi of the family, saying the letter is dated November 17, 2025.

Attention: Prince Fetuga Adediran Taiwo
Subject: Confirmation of Appointment of Otunba Ayodele Adedayo Osisanya as Chief Jaginrin of Ijebu-Ode

Re: Your letter dated November 14, 2025

“I am writing to formally confirm the selection and approval of Otunba Ayodele Adedayo Osisanya as the new Chief Jaginrin of Ijebu-Ode.

“This confirmation is deemed necessary following the demise of Chief Francis Ladejobi (May his soul rest in peace), and in accordance with the regulations and procedures outlined under Section 4(2) of the Chiefs Law governing the selection and succession to the Awujale of Ijebu-Land Chieftaincy, as made by the Western Region Ijebu Province Chieftaincy Committee of the Ijebu Division Council, designated as the competent council by W.R.L.N 22 of 1959.

“As the royal authority over the Ilamuren In-Council and the Head of the Kingmakers in the selection of the Awujale, and in further exercise of the powers conferred on me by the Chieftaincy Instrument dated July 28, 1993, as the Olisa of Ijebu-Ode, I hereby approve his appointment.

“Accordingly, his name has been recommended to the Chairman of Ijebu-Ode Local Government for official recognition as the Chief Jaginrin of Ijebu-Ode.

“Accept my congratulations on your appointment as Oloja Jaginrin of Ijebu-Ode.”

Signed:
Alaiyeluwa (Olisa) R. Adeoye Adesanya, E.CA, A.C.M.A.
Ademoku II,
The Olisa of Ijebu-Ode

CC: Otuboyejo Ruling House, Idele, Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State.

CC: Otunba Ayodele Adedayo Osisanya, IVC Jaginrin Palace, Idele, Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State

Reacting further at his seclusion ground, Otunba Osisanya maintained that he has always adhered to due process and would not compromise on established family and traditional protocols.

“I am old enough to know my rights within my family. I cannot jump protocols without following the due process. As indicated in the letter released to you, everything was done properly.

“Our family has its history, and the Olori Ebi is fully supporting us. I remain the authentic Jaginrin of Ijebu-Ode by the affirmation of the Olisa, Oba Adesanya. I have no reason to look back or entertain distractions. We have a clear directive, and we are doing what is necessary.”
