An online petition on the change.org platform, to hold a Nigerian lawmaker representing Delta North Senatorial District, Senator Ned Nwoko accountable for alleged power abuse has received over 34,000 signatures of Nigerians.

The petition by Sammy West, a brother to Ned’s wife Regina Daniels, accused the lawmaker of abuse of power.

It also accused Ned of obstructing fundamental human rights of the actress, alleging that Ned was intimidating Regina and her family.

Part of the petition reads, “Nwoko’s alleged misconduct is not only an affront to Regina Daniels and her family but also a potential threat to all Nigerians who believe in fairness, justice, and the rule of law.

“His actions were reportedly more than just personal transgressions; they reflect a misuse of influence that undermines the democratic principles Nigeria relies upon.

“The alarming reports circulating in the media claim that Nwoko has leveraged his position and influence to obstruct legal rights and intimidate.

“Such actions, if left unchecked, could pave the way for an environment where influence overshadows justice. Nigerians in Lagos and beyond should not remain silent onlookers to these grave accusations”.

Salient Times reports that Regina Daniels recently accused her husband of domestic violence, alleging that she was assaulted in Ned’s house.

However, the lawmaker in a statement, denied the allegations, attributing Regina’s outburst to the influence of alcohol and drugs.
