According to Makama, the tragedy occurred late on Sunday, October 12, in Topland Community, Gbazango area of Kubwa.

It was gathered that the victim’s niece, Ms. Gania Karim, received a distress call around 11:02 p.m. informing her that Mkpati, a citizen of Benin Republic, had taken the poisonous substance and was in critical condition.

With the help of neighbours, he was rushed to Kubwa General Hospital, where a doctor on duty confirmed him dead on arrival.
