Interact Club donates Consumables To Bostal institution, Stella Obasanjo Homes

The Interact Club of Buckswood International School, an offshoot of Rotary Club of Abeokuta Metropolitan on Thursday donated some consumables to the Borstal Institute, Adigbe and Stella Obasanjo Children’s Homes, Abeokuta, Ogun State.

While handling over the materials to the organizations, the President, Interact Club, Buckswood School, Interactor Sanni Oluwafikunolami called on youths to shun social vices and eschew any acts that could hamper their future dreams.

He said the youths who are the hope and future of the country need to channel their vibrancy to things that will exalt the nation rather than negative tendencies.

Interactor Sanni said the Interact Club of Buckswood School, Abeokuta, a Club being sponsored by Rotary Club of Abeokuta Metropolitan, is moved by the plight of students at Borstal Institution and those of Stella Obasanjo Children’s Home in Abeokuta, and the best way to identify with these people is to show them love, that, in spite of what they are going through, the people outside there still loves them.

He thanked the government for the reformation in the institution , while calling on youths and students to eschew all kinds of vices as they still have hope to excel in life.

On her part, the President, Rotary Club of Abeokuta Metropolitan, Rotarian ( Olori yeye) Catherine Bisayo Oyekan-Ogundeji, said the less privileged people in the society needed support from well meaning Nigerians, as well as philanthropists, adding that the gesture was aimed at helping the needy, parentless and underprivileged children in the society to make them feel loved and a part of the community.

She added that the initiatives at the Borstal Institute was aimed to instill a sense of belonging and to provide resources and guidance that support the students’ rehabilitation journey.

A representative of the students at the Borstal Institute, Adigbe expressed gratitude during the visit, saying, “We are very happy and feel loved that the outside community still cares about us.
