Mr. Aye made this call during a meeting with heads of various sports and ancillary staff at the Multipurpose Hall of the Sampson Siasia Sports Complex in Yenagoa.

Mr. Aye emphasized that Bayelsa State exhibits as the team to beat in every national competition, and rival states are making concerted efforts to outshine Team Bayelsa.

The Director noted that despite challenges of inadequate facilities and a shortage of modern equipment, coaches, athletes, and officials must continue to remain committed and give their best at all times as the game is won only through consistency.

The Director commended the unwavering support of the State Governor, Senator Douye Diri; the Deputy Governor, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo; and the Commissioner for Sports Development, Chief Baraladei Daniel Igali, noting that their satisfaction with Team Bayelsa’s consistent performances has led to regular funding and government backing for various sporting engagements.

During the meeting, Mr. Aye formally announced Mrs. Jean Ebi Appreala, the immediate past Head of Media and Publicity, as the new Secretary of the Council.

More changes were made with the following appointments:

Coach Prince Deidei Enebidou – Head of Coaching

Mr. Dimie Okara – Head of Zones
