Ebonyi set to recover dividends from NLNG

The Ebonyi State Government led by governor Francis Nwifuru has set machinery in motion to recover its share of dividends from the Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG) and other unremitted oil revenues dating from 1999 till date.

Also, the state announced that it would build ultra modern health clinic that would make healthcare services accessable to civil servants working at the state government house and others.

The commissioner for Information and State Orientation Barr, Ikeuwa Omebeh disclosed this yesterday, while briefing journalists on the outcome of this week State Executive Council (EXCO) meeting held on Tuesday.

He stated that the dividends accrued to Ebonyi as a shareholders in NLNG has not being access since 1999.

“To this end, EXCO approved the engagement of TIARAS White Consult Limited to undertake a comprehensive review, reconciliation, and recovery of all amounts due to the State.

“The consultancy firm will be entitled to a 15% commission on the total recovered funds”,he mentioned.

In the area of health, the commissioner noted that governor Nwifuru also approved the sum of 3.5 billion naira for the construction of the new government House, clinic.

“The facility which is envisioned as a state-of-the-art medical center, strategically positioned to serve as both an emergency response unit for government officials and a model health facility for the state, showcasing modern medical practices and technologies,”he explained.
