The ceremony was well-attended and marked the beginning of a new era of empowerment for the people of Bayelsa State.

The Managing Director of the Niger Delta Basin Development Authority, Prince Ebitimi Amgbare, explained that the Renewed Hope Empowerment Programme is one of the laudable initiatives of President Bola Tinubu, aimed at improving the economic well-being and social standing of youths and women through job creation, skills acquisition, and entrepreneurship.

The programme also includes the distribution of food and non-food items to vulnerable women and ICT empowerment in digital marketing.

Prince Amgbare urged the people of Bayelsa State to create a peaceful environment for President Tinubu to continue with his empowerment programmes, which are designed to better the lives of the people.

The Special Guest of Honour, Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, National Chairman of the APC, commended the people of Bayelsa State for their support for President Tinubu’s initiatives.

He lauded the prevailing peace in the Niger Delta region, which has led to increased oil production, and expressed optimism that the Renewed Hope Empowerment Scheme will crystallize Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), driving economic growth and development.

The Executive Director, Socials and Human Capital Development, South South Development Commission, and Trustee CDI, Engr. Preye Aganaba, coordinated the distribution of empowerment items to beneficiaries according to local governments. The items included mini-buses, refrigerators, generators, and others.

The Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, emphasized that the programme was conceived to support President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and not a political campaign.

He urged the people of the Niger Delta to appreciate President Tinubu’s efforts and reciprocate in 2027.
