Actress Bimbo Oshin has extended her condolences to colleague Bose Alao following the death of her husband, former Benin Republic striker Razak Omotoyossi.

Bimbo shared a photo of Bose on Instagram with the caption,
“I know this is an incredibly tough time for you, losing a loved one is never easy. I’ve been there, and I can relate to the pain and difficulty of accepting such a loss. It’s very heartbreaking …… I want to offer my condolences and say, may God rest his gentle soul it’s a pain I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy. May you find comfort and strength in God my darling @bosealaoo ❤️❤️❤️”

Razak Omotoyossi died on August 19, aged 38.

He was buried two days later, on Thursday, at his residence in a ceremony attended by family, friends and colleagues. Bose was seen in tears as her husband was laid to rest.

Omotoyossi, who began his career in Nigeria before switching nationality to represent Benin Republic, made history as the country’s first goal scorer at the Africa Cup of Nations. He was joint top scorer in the 2008 AFCON qualifiers alongside Cameroon’s Samuel Eto’o after netting four goals in a single game.

At club level, he played across several countries including South Africa, Sweden, France, Egypt and Syria. He also featured for Helsingborgs IF in the UEFA Champions League.

Bose Alao and Omotoyossi got married in 2007 and their union produced four children, including a set of twins. Their marriage faced public challenges in 2018 after Bose accused him of domestic abuse, a matter she later described as personal.

Bimbo Oshin has personally experienced the pain of losing a spouse. In 2021, her husband, Ola Ibironke (popularly known as Dudu Heritage), died suddenly after collapsing at the Ibadan Golf Club.

At his funeral, Bimbo described her late husband as her “backbone” and expressed her heartbreak: “I have cried more than I have ever done in my 25 years as an actress. I had the opportunity and privilege of being the wife and partner to the most wonderful, loving, romantic, peaceful, kind, and God-fearing man any woman can wish for.”
