..calls for individual supports for the less privileged
Two non-governmental organizations, Mamufat Youth Community Development Foundation and, Vision Savers Organization have supported free eye surgery and provision of glasses for 1600 residents of Ogun State as part of the efforts to assist the less privileged with eyes challenges
The initiator of the Program, Engr. Oluwatoyin Jokoseumi, who is also the Bada of Owu Kingdom said the eye screening was facilitated to assist the vulnerabled, the aged and others who could not afford the financial capacity to handle their eyes challenges.
Jokoseumi noted that many of the residents needed awareness of the precautions for eye defects and other health-related issues.
“We have chosen to reach out to men and women, especially those who could not afford the medical expenses for the treatment of their eyes, we also provide medical enlightenment, basic medical care and tests, and eye care services.
“We believe awareness will go a long way in shaping the way people handle their health issues. It is expected to help in restoring and improving their quality of life. Good health is very essential to the economic development of every society she said.
Engr Jokoseumi spoke about how critical eyesight is to people and why he is undergoing the screening with support from friends all over the World saying that he considers it his primary responsibility to give back to the people.
“The conduction of eye tests and giving of eyeglasses by the Foundation was a significant one and an effort to promote proper eye care and attention in the country. It is heartwarming to see how much impact such an initiative can have in bringing hope and improving the quality of life for many people in the community.”
Engr. Jokosenumi, a seasoned engineer, said as a way of giving back to society, the free medical outreach aimed at taking care of less privileged, is aimed at ameliorating the current financial crisis facing the people.
He asked Nigerians to always pay attention and grab any opportunity for free medical outreach to better their lives.
He also urged the individuals to collaborate with NGOs to facilitate free eye screening programmes.
“We are meant to understand that through a process of dynamic interaction, we rub off on each other positively.
Also Speaking, the Olowu of Owu Kingdom, Oba Professor Saka Matemilola expressed his satisfaction with the turnout and emphasized the importance of making healthcare services available to all, particularly at the grassroots where there is high level of people with economic vulnerability who might otherwise struggle to access them.
The royal father stated that the initiator of the free eye screening medical outreach, Bada Engr. Oluwatoyin Jokoseumi is a great philatropist who has the passion to assist the less privileged, while commending the partnering Foundations for believing in the project.
Some of the beneficiaries commended the foundation for its efforts in ensuring that people lived their lives free of sight challenges.

Also the aged, young men, and women from different communities were also present. It was a remarkable gesture of kindness and compassion, especially in a world where many people suffer from visual impairment and access to medical eyeglasses remains a challenge.
