The Movement for the Survival of the Izon Ethnic Nationality in the Niger Delta (MOSIEND) joins the Ikwerre Nation, the academic community, and well-wishers across Nigeria in celebrating an extraordinary leader, scholar, and cultural icon, Emeritus Prof. Simeon Chituru Achinewu, former President of Ogbakor Ikwerre Worldwide and Vice Chancellor of the Rivers State University.
According to the President, MOSIEND, Dr. Kennedy Tonjo West he noted that as Vice Chancellor, he provided inspiring leadership that raised the Rivers State University (then known as Rivers State University of Science and Technology), to new levels in research, academic success, and institutional growth.Prof. Achinewu’s significant contributions cover academia, cultural leadership, and public service.
In his position as President of Ogbakor Ikwerre Worldwide, he promoted multi-cultural unity, cultural preservation, and the advancement of the Ikwerre people.
His leadership approach created a lasting legacy of peace and progress in Ikwere land and beyond.
His dedication keeps inspiring many within and beyond the Ikwerre Nation.
On this special day, MOSIEND honors his life’s work, his steadfast commitment to community improvement, and his mentorship of generations of scholars and leaders.
He remains a source of knowledge and cultural pride.
