The Saint James Seminary Old Boys Association (SAJSOBA), Yandev, has generously donated food and non-food items worth hundreds of thousands of Naira to victims of the recent attacks on Yelewata Community, in Benue State, North Central Nigeria.

The President of the Alumni, Engr. Dr. Godwin Kave, who presented the items on behalf of members of the body urged the Federal Government to increase security presence in vulnerable areas to prevent further tragedies.

The donation was made in honour of the 70th anniversary of Saint James Seminary, and to show support for those affected by the violence.

The Minor Seminary which was founded in 1955 is the oldest institution dedicated to the training of prospective priests of the Catholic Church in Northern Nigeria.

The Alumni President stressed the importance of coming together to address the root causes of the crisis and provide assistance to those in need.

He was emphasised that the visit of the Alumni to the IDPs Camp was to distribute aid and express solidarity with those displaced from their homes.

He commended the effort of both the State and Federal Government as well as other individuals and organisations for the concern to the displaced population and appealed for more support to the ongoing relief efforts.

He particularly expressed deep appreciation for the kindness and support shown by the Alumni, highlighting the importance of unity and compassion in facing adversity.

Mr. Nyam maintained that the State Government was working in synergy with the Federal Government and other organisations with the aim to create a brighter future for all those affected by the displacement.

The Items donated by the Alumni of Saint James Seminary include 15 bags of rice, ten cartons of Indomie noodles, one bag of slippers, four cartons of detergent, three cartons of soap, five bags of clothings and shoes, and organised barbing session, especially for male members of the displaced population.
