A Socio Cultural Organization, Peace Initiative Committee which comprises renounced members of three Confraternity groups, Supreme Eiye Confraternity (SEC),Buccaneer Association Of Nigeria, (BAN) and Neo black Movement (NBM) on Tuesday paid a courtesy visit on the Ogun State Police Commissioner, CP Lanre Ogunlowo.

The three groups who had left higher institutions for some decades now, and who are indigen in the Ogun Central Senatorial Districts, said the purpose of the visit is to see ways on how to assist in curbing the menace of cult related crimes in the State.

Speaking on behalf of the groups, the Public Relations Officer of the Organization, Mr Ife Bola , said the organization is visiting in order to look for modalities on how to achieve peace in the higher institutions and Communities in the State.

“Our Organization is planning to go round the twenty (20)Local Governments, meets with the Council Chairmen across the State, and let them know our aims and objectives and how they can be of help to reduce violence in their respective Local Governments

“Our mission is to prevent confraternity killings in Ogun Central and promote peace and harmony. We will achieve this by preaching the gospel of peace to community confraternities, Okada riders, and those doing various jobs across all local governments under Ogun Central.

“We will also visit motor parks and schools to promote total cleanliness. Our goal is to ensure everybody lives in peace and harmony without cult killings.

He then sought collaboration with the law enforcement agencies saying that the Organization seek to establish synergy with the Nigerian Police Force.

“We request that you collaborate with all DPOs in Ogun Central, enabling us to work hand-in-hand.

This partnership will allow us to work together effectively and foster a strong relationship.

Responding, the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Olanrewaju Ogunlowo appreciated the organization for the visit assuring that the command will be ready to partner with Organizations that will assist the Command curtail crime rates in the State.

He assured that he will inform all departments and divisions on the need to collaborate with the group in order to stem the tide of cultism in the State.

During the courtesy visit, an award of appreciation was presented to the CP on behalf of the Organization in recognition of the outstanding dedication to maintaining peace and beefing up security in Ogun State

In his vote of thanks , the Chairman of the Organization, Mr Akeem Abioro expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Ogun CP for the fatherly guidance and support extended to the Organization and warm reception given to them . He prayed that , God will continue to honour and lead him to higher places in his career progression.
