The Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwifuru on Monday swapped three commissioners serving in his cabinet after two years and two months in office.
In the minor reshufflement, the Commissioner for Information and State Orientation, Jude Chikadiaba was moved to the ministry of Rural Development while his counterpart, Chief Ikeuwa Omebe formerly in charge of the ministry, was redeployed to serve in Information ministry.
Also, the Commissioner for Primary and Secondary Education, Paul Nwobashi was redeployed to the ministry of Border Peace and Conflict Resolution while his counterpart in his present ministry, Dr. Donatus Ilang was redeployed to Primary and Secondary Education ministry.
The new Commissioner for Information and State Orientation, Ikeuwa Omebeh who announced the minor cabinet reshuffle, said Governor Francis Nwifuru gave the state Commissioner for Environment , Victor Chukwu and his Tertiary Education counterpart, Prof. Omari Omaka(SAN) six months to sit up or face some punitive measures.
He said the Governor urged members of the executive council to reflect on their stewardship to the state and redirect their focus on the vision and mission of the present administration in the state as contained in the People’s Charter of Needs campaign slogan.
Before this reshufflement, Governor Nwifuru had on several occasions expressed dismay over the lukewarm attitudes of some of the commissioners in pursuance of his mandate to people of the state.
Previously, the governor had recently in an interview with journalists revealed that he would not like to sack any of his serving aide but rather give them opportunity to seat up or face sack.
