The Chairman of the Directorate for Project Monitoring and Evaluation, Hon. Engr. Ebiye Tarabina, Mcoren, on Thursday paid a working visit to key infrastructure projects across Bayelsa State, expressing satisfaction with the pace of work.
Top on his inspection list was the ongoing construction of the iconic Nine-Storey Secretariat Complex. Engr. Tarabina revealed that 198 out of the proposed 288 piling points have been completed, with sub-soil construction and soil testing still in progress.
He commended Mega Star Technical and Construction Company, the contractor handling the project, for the quality and speed of work delivered so far.
“The progress made on this secretariat complex is commendable. It is a major infrastructural milestone for our state, and I’m impressed with the level of technical commitment being exhibited,” he stated.
Following the inspection of the secretariat site, the Chairman proceeded to assess the ongoing construction of the Polaku–Sabagreia Road and its accompanying bridge, as well as the Glory Drive Phase Three project.
Engr. Tarabina was accompanied by the Secretary of the Directorate, Engr. Sampson Igodo, board members, engineers, and other senior officials of the directorate.
The inspection, according to Tarabina, is part of the directorate’s mandate to ensure that all ongoing projects meet the required standards and timelines for delivery.
