The Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria, JUSUN, has called off its indefinite strike, which began on June 1.
The judiciary workers embarked on the industrial action due to the Federal Government’s inability to address some demands, including the settling of a five-month wage award, implementation of the N70,000 new national minimum wage, and the 25/35 per cent salary increment for workers under the consolidated public service salary structure.
JUSUN insisted its members should go on strike because of a series of failed negotiations, including meetings by the Minister of Labour and Employment aimed at resolving the issues.
However, the decision calling off the strike was contained in a communique issued by JUSUN after a series of meetings and agreements with the Representatives of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Hon. Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, and relevant stakeholders on June 3, 2025.
