The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Ebonyi State Chapter, express its deep heartfelt condolences to Team Kano on the tragic loss of members in a ghastly road accident.
The incident which occured while Team Kano were returning home from the 22nd Edition of the National Sports Festival Abeakuta, Ogun State.
This was contained in a press statement signed by Chairman of the Association, Comrade Ndubuisi Nwogha, who described the incident as painful and a big shock to the sports community, affirming that the Association stands in solidarity with the bereaved families and love ones.
According to the chairman, Comrade Ndubuisi Nwogha who in sober mood said that the loss of the talented players was a big blow to the sports community, prayed that their memories will live on through their contributions to sports development and humanity.
While praying for the peaceful repose of their souls, pray to the Kano sports community and the entire people of the state believing that God will be with them in this time of trial.
The chairman urged the Kano state government not to abandon the bereaved families as to ensure that victims are given heroic burial for the ultimate price they paid for the good of their state.
“May the souls of the faithful departed rest in peace, and may God comfort those they left behind.”
