Singer Portable Portable has taken a swipe at Speed Darlington over his controversial claim of having an inappropriate relationship with a 15-year-old girl.

Darlington sparked outrage on social media after footage of him confessing to having sexual intercourse with the minor surfaced on Tuesday.

The backlash prompted swift action from authorities, with the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) stepping in and escalating the case to the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP).

In a series of Instagram post, Portable declared Darlington a “disgrace to Igbo,” arguing he was the “first lazy Igbo man” he had ever seen involved in rape.

“Speed Darlington is a disgrace to Igbo. He is the first lazy Igbo man I have seen. He is the first Igbo man I know that rapes,” he said.

“Igbo men pay before having an intimate relationship with you. He is raping a 15 year old that’s seeking admission when I’m here looking for billions. You don’t have a career. “Igbos are not lazy, they are don’t rape. They are the ones who lavish on women. You are the lazy one among the Igbo.”

Darlington had claimed the incident was entirely fictional; however, Portable argued that being a musician or content creator doesn’t justify such actions, insisting, “there is a way to go about it”.

“You said it’s content, for promotion, are you the only musician? I’m a content creator too. If you want to trend, there is a way to go about it, you have to have an issue and money,” he added.

“Do you want to tell me you went to rape and confess because you want to trend? Trend by grace, not by disgrace.”

NAPTIP also invited Darlington to its headquarters for questioning.
