The governor of Ebonyi, Rt.Hon. Francis Nwifuru has admonished indigenes of the state to stop criticizing not only his administration but including other governors who have served the state in the past

The governor insisted that he was not elected unprepared including others.

Nwifuru further states that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has remained steadfastness and commitment towards the actualization of good governance by continual funding of capital projects initiated by governors of the 36 States and Abuja.

He made this known on Wednesday at EBOCAB new headquarters at Ecuminical Centre Abakaliki, the state capital during the official commissioning and inauguration of another transport firm owned by the state.

The governor explained that the new project came on board following high rate and reported cases of theft, touting, harassment, extortion, robbery and intimidation of commuters by some criminal tricycle operators in the state.

He further noted that the new transport scheme which would be under the care of Dr. Henry Okemiri, has 68 fleet of brand new pick-up vans and 30 units of Sports Utility Vehicles, each aquire at the cost of 25 million, to start operation with.

“Today what we were able to aquire are 68 pick up vans and 30 fleet of brand new 30 Sports Utility Vehicles at 25 million per one. Although we negotiated but this is too new to our people and the market itself.

“And it is for the purpose of eliminating high rate of theft, extortion, harassment, robbery and killing by some criminal Keke operatives in the state.

“Again, it’s amaze me to see people criticizing my government and even those in the past.

“Now let me make it known to you that none of these leaders in the state since it’s creation came unprepared including my very self that is just two years in office and has the people’s charter of needs at heart.

“And at the Presidential level, Mr. President has continually shown support and giving funds to support us (governors) to development our states.

“And that is the reason we are recording this high level of achievements in just two years in office”,he stated.

Earlier, the General Manager of new company, (EBOCAB), Dr. Okemiri assured that the management has put things in place to gain patronage and services of the people.

“We have concluded discussion for constant services and repairs of the vehicles here in Abakiliki. We have also trained our drivers to driver safely on the road”, Okemiri assured.

In an interview with Salient Times, the former minister for state power, Hon. Godwin Ogbaga called on the management of EBOCAB to take safety of their customers as it’s major priority.

“I’m calling on the drivers to be very careful because if you place the interest of the customers first and safety on wheels that would attract the interest of the gov to do more”, he added.
