Mrs Salako Francisca commended the Director General of the agency, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, for his visionary leadership in establishing offices across the six geopolitical Zones in Nigeria

The new Zonal Director for the South West, NOA, said these while unveiling the newly formed zone to the public at a Press conference held in Abeokuta, the Ogun State Capital.

Mrs Francisca said the consciousness of the people is now awaken to their responsibilities through various campaigns put forward by the Agency, while saying that the Agency will continue to perform its roles with more vigour and dedication.

Speaking on the newly established Zonal offices nationwide, the Zonal Director said the move isto strengthen grassroots engagement and deepen the impact of its nationwide campaigns

The Zonal Director, Mrs. Salako Olufunke Fransisca, described the development as a strategic step to enhance the agency’s effectiveness in communicating federal, state, and local government programmes across the geo-political zones.

The establishment of zonal directorates, according to Mrs. Salako, is in line with the NOA Act, CAP No. 64 of 2004, and is aimed at streamlining the agency’s operations while promoting national values and fostering development at the grassroots.

“This structure will not only ensure closer monitoring of the State Directorates within each zone but will also facilitate better coordination, stakeholder engagement, and civic participation,” she said.

Outlining the functions of the zonal offices, she noted that the South West Zonal Directorate will supervise state activities, host zonal flag-offs of national programmes, and collaborate with regional federal agencies, non-governmental organisations, and pan-cultural bodies.

In a major highlight, Mrs. Salako announced that Ogun State has been selected as the headquarters for the South West zone.

She praised the administration of Governor Dapo Abiodun for its support, particularly for providing the NOA with office accommodation within the South West Resource Centre in Abeokuta.

“We are deeply grateful to His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, for his magnanimity. His support underscores Ogun State’s commitment to national development and civic enlightenment,” she added.

Starting May 29, the zonal directorate will embark on familiarisation and working visits to all NOA offices across the South West.

These visits, she noted, will include meetings with traditional and religious leaders to reaffirm partnerships and forge new collaborations.

Mrs. Salako also applauded the leadership of NOA Director General, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, describing his tenure as a turning point in the agency’s history due to the introduction of innovative policies and impactful programmes.

She called on the media for continued collaboration, emphasising the role of journalists in advancing the agency’s mission of promoting patriotism and effective communication of government activities to Nigerians.

“The media remains a critical partner in our journey towards building a united, informed and participatory citizenry. We solicit your treasured support as we press forward with our objectives,” she concluded.

The newly inaugurated zonal directorate is expected to serve as a catalyst for greater civic engagement, regional coordination, and the entrenchment of national values across the South West.
