Ogun Monarch, Eselu Commends President Tinubu Over Conversion of Ilaro Poly To University of Technology
The Eselu of Iselu Kingdom in Yewa North Local Government area of Ogun State, Oba Akintunde Akinyemi has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the approval to transform the Federal Polytechnic Ilaro, to a University of Technology.
Eselu in an open letter addressed to the President said the conversion has truly confirmed the love of the President for the State and appreciated him for his visionary leadership and commitment to the development of Yewa Land and the entire Gateway State,

AN OPEN APPRECIATION LETTER TO HIS EXCELLENCY, ASIWAJU BOLA AHMED TINUBU, GCFR, THE PRESIDENT AND COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF OF THE ARMED FORCES, FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA ON APPROVAL OF CONVERSION OF FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC, ILARO, OGUN STATE TO FEDERAL UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY, ILARO (FUTI) I, Alaiyeluwa Oba Akintunde AKINYEMI, JP, FCIMN, The Eselu of Iselu Kingdom in Yewa North Local Government Area, Ogun State, write this Open Appreciation
Letter to His Excellency, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed TINUBU, GCFR, The President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria so as to express my deepest Appreciation for the approval Your Excellency granted for the conversion of Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, Ogun State to Federal University of Technology, Ilaro (FUTI).
Mr. President, I am expressing my heartwarming and heartfelt gratitude for your visionary leadership and commitment to the development of Yewa Land and the entire Gateway State, i.e Ogun State. Your approval of the conversion of Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro to Federal University of Technology, Ilaro is a monumental milestone that will transform the educational landscape of Yewa Land.
This landmark upgrade will provide our youth with access to cutting-edge technology and innovative education, empowering them to drive progress and development in our division, i.e Ogun State.
All well-meaning sons and daughters of Yewa Land, including my humble self appreciate Your Excellency’s tireless efforts to promote education and human capital development in Nigeria.Without mincing words, the unprecedented, presidential approval which was announced by the Senate President Godswill Akpabio, GCON during Wednesday’s plenary has fulfilled the desire of all well-meaning sons and daughters of Yewa, especially our son, Senator Olamilekan Adeola (Yaayi), CON, the Senator representing Ogun West Senatorial District at the National Assembly whose burning desire for about a decade was to have a Federal University in Yewa Land.
Without doubt, this new university has made Ogun West to be at par with Ogun Central where the Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta (FUNAB) is domiciled and Ogun East where the Federal University of Education, Ijagun, Ijebu Ode is domiciled.
As a lover of education, I thank Mr. President, from the bottom of my heart, for supporting our aspiration and making our dearest son, Senator Olamilekan Adeola (Yaayi), CON and our amiable Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON to be proud members of your Political Family.
May your tenure continue to witness more monumental accomplishments.
May your enemies continue to fail.I will also like to use this medium to appreciate, immensely, our Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON for the unprecedented developments in all aspects that he has brought to Yewa Land since the time he assumed office in 2019.
To me, the greatest achievement of Governor Dapo Abiodun in Yewa is the effort he made to bring Senator Olamilekan Adeola (Yaayi) back to his home state, Ogun State.
Since his assumption of office as Ogun West Senatorial District Senator, Senator Olamilekan Adeola (Yaayi) has continued to be a big blessing to all of us, i.e all his kinsmen and kinswomen.
If Governor Dapo Abiodun had not brought Senator Olamilekan Adeola (Yaayi) back to his root in Ilaro, Ogun State, Senator Olamilekan Adeola (Yaayi) wouldn’t have had the opportunity to push extensively the aspiration to allow Ogun West to have a Federal University.
Mr. President, I cannot end my Open Appreciation Letter without appreciating the Aremo of Yewa and Pride of Yewa, Senator Olamilekan Adeola (Yaayi) for the accelerated development we have been witnessing in Ogun West since his assumption of office as Ogun West Senator in 2023.
His collaboration with the Executive Governor of Ogun Sttate, Prince Dapo Abiodun has been a huge blessing to us in Yewa Land.
We also want to appreciate the Senate President Godswill Akpabio, GCON and other distinguished Senators for the good working relationship they have with our son, Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (yaayi), CON.
Also, I must congratulate His Royal Majesty, Alaiyeluwa, Oba Kehinde Gbadewole Olugbenle, MFR, The Paramount Ruler of Yewa Land and Chairman, Ogun State Council of Obas on the new Federal University of Technology that is situated on his land in Ilaro, Ogun State.
I join millions of Nigerians in rejoicing with you.
Finally, I want to implore all Ogun West politicians to rally round Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (Yaayi) and our dear Governor and shun politics of witch-hunting and selfishness.
Everybody’s ambition should be secondary to the collective interest of Ogun West.
