Ogun 2024: CUPP Berates Gov Abiodun Over Alleged Lopsidedness In Venue Allocation, Capital Flight
…asks Ogun Assembly to Start the impeachment process of the governor
The Ogun State chapter of Coalition of United Political Parties, CUPP has called on Ogun State House of Assembly to start the impeachment process of the Governor over the ways he allegedly handled the hosting of the National Sports Festival tagged,’Ogun 2024′.
CUPP in a statement signed by its Chairman, Otunba Femi Soluade said the lopsidedness in the allocation of of events for each venues, the capital flight from the State and other shortcomings in the awards of contract for the Ogun 2024 deserves a strong condemnation from the people.
CUPP said several Interest groups, politicians, food vendors, artisans and Ogun residents had cried out to the Coalition as a means of “Save Our Souls” to call the attention of the Dapo Abiodun led administration to address, compensate and do Justice to total denial of social and economic benefits that should have been accrued as a benefit to the State and the people for hosting the game.
The Coalition condemned the flagrant deviation from the perfect legacy and tradition laid by former Governor Otunba Gbenga Daniel which was adjudge to be the best based on equity, fairness and justice that prevailed during the hosting.
“CUPP Citing flagrant violation of chapter 5, Part 1 Section 71 & 72 of the 1999 constitution as amended would be invoked as a potential instrument of impeachment, failure on the part of House of Assembly to commence Impeachment, CUPP will have no choice but to further ask for activation of FOI Act the Second time for the Government to provide to the public the total government expenditure of peoples money spent to favor Cronies, private Entity like Babcock University owned by Seventh Day Adventist Church and Remo International Stadium owned by Prince Dapo Abiodun friend, Mr Kunle Soname instead of upgrading states own facilities like Comprehensive High School Aiyetoro, Gateway stadium Ilaro and federal Polytechnic Ilaro for public benefits
“The Food Vendors Association had also earlier cried out and protested of total denial of allocation of jobs due to them after the submission and acknowledgement of their proposal, not minding other expenditures from their poor earnings. Instead, the government in its usual manner of tramping on the rights and welfare of the citizens awarded to Babcock University where the Governor has interest, and further impoverished the struggling parents facing economic woes imposed on them by this impassionate, self centered, greedy officials populated in the government ready to always do the bidding of this ignoble administration, otherwise how on earth can the Commissioner for Sports Mr Wasiu Isiaka could not even secure participation of his Ogun West senatorial district, despite having Gateway Stadium at Ilaro
“CUPP perceives this as premeditated to punish some interest in that district, this is an analogy of “Cutting One’s nose to spite ones face”.
Dr Femi Soluade asked rhetorically, “how Some Citizens are being treated as freeborn and others as Slaves, A child of the same parents being discriminated against by their father”.
“These are the reasons for CUPP voracious advocacy for governance with moral latitude and good conscience to promote equity fairness and justice that engenders Peace, Tranquility and Progress of the People
“CUPP has been shouting at the top of its voice and has not abated and this Government and its goons continue committing infractions on daily bases, the latest is the another blunder surrounding this National sport Festival.
Otunba Soluade said the action of the Governor has continue to demarket APC government thereby increasing the resentment of the citizens against the party and their prospective Candidates at all levels.
“A loss to one is a gain for others as ADC , PDP , Labour Party and other viable opposition Parties and groups are coming stronger to find strength in the coalition to put to an end this regime ruled by King Nebucadnezzar which maybe be the last of their reign of impunity as Prince Dapo Abiodun has become the Chief Pathologist, mortician and undertaker of his party because of his strange style inimical to the impichable character and ethos of Omoluwabi that OGUN citizens are known for .
‘With this unconstitutional breach by the APC administration, opposition political parties must come together and put an end via the ballot in 2027 so as to vote out all APC candidates in Ogun State
