Mercy Johnson Opens Up About Health Struggles After Drastic Weight Loss

Nollywood actress, Mercy Johnson-Okojie, has addressed concerns about her noticeable weight loss, revealing she underwent thyroid removal surgery following a cancer scare.

During a recent conversation with veteran actress Joke Silva, Johnson-Okojie shared her health journey, explaining that the surgery required significant lifestyle adjustments.

“I had a cancer scare, and I had my thyroid removed. It was a journey for my family and me, especially with my youngest child being just six months old at the time. My husband and I had to accept this new reality and proceed with the surgery.” Johnson-Okojie recounted.

The actress also disclosed that she will need lifelong medication, emphasising the importance of strict adherence to her treatment plan.

“So, I’m reconciling with this, you are saying [my weight loss]. I’m at the point where you realise that this is where we are, let’s grow from here and live in this comfort zone,” she added.

Her openness has drawn support from fans, shedding light on her resilience amid health challenges.
