FRSC Lagos, Ogun Zonal Command Commissions Health Care Facility
….seeks motorists support to end road crashes

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has sought for the cooperation and support of motorists in order to end road traffic crashes on the highways

Mrs Ann Oladayo-Odeleye, Acting Zonal Commanding Officer, Lagos and Ogun, made the call in Abeokuta on Monday during the inauguration of a health facility at the FRSC Abeokuta office.

Odeleye noted that it was important for all stakeholders to champion the campaign to end the incessant road accidents that often resulted into casualties.

She declared that the Corps 2025 goals included reductions of road crashes, calling on all stakeholders to join forces in the campaign for zero tolerance to crashes on highways, especially the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.

The acting zonal commanding officer admonished motorists to always drive carefully, check their vehicles’ tyres before embarking on any journey.

She warned them to desist from alcohol intake, and if they must drink alcohol, they should distance themselves from driving.

Odeleye lauded the state Special Marshals for donating the health facility.

She said that government alone could not provide basic amenities, saying that it was important for well meaning individuals and other stakeholders to support.

“FRSC 2025 goal is about the reduction of road crashes, and zero tolerance of crashes on the highway, including Lagos – Ibadan.

“We also want to urge the motorists to check their tyres everyday before driving,” he said.
