Workers Welfare: SSANIP accuses Fed Govt of insensitivity

 

The federal government has been berated for not taking the issue of welfare of federal Polytechnics workers with the seriousness it deserves.

The National President of the Senior Staff Association Of Nigerian Polytechnics, Comrade Adebanjo Ogunsipe said this in a release in Abeokuta, Ogun state capital on Thursday.

The SSANIP President said with the terrible economic situation, Nigerian workers deserve more than the government is giving them adding that members of his Association constitute a formidable pillar in the Polytechnics education system and deserve to be treated well.

He lamented a situation where salaries that can’t sustain the worker in the first instance are not paid to them as at when due.

Ogunsipe expressed resentment at the federal government’s insensitivity to the plights of the Polytechnic employees despite the implications this would have on their productivity in the education industry.

He charged President Bola Tinubu to consider technical benefits inherent in Polytechnic education in the policies of his government, pointing out that Polytechnic education is the propeller of economic development for a society that embraces it.

The SSANIP President however warned against likely face off that may be inevitable if urgent actions are not taking by the the government stressing that there’s a limit to human endurance.

He said members of his Association have shown great commitments and dedication in the discharge of their duties and therefore deserve to be taken good care of.
